Synopsis:
Piano player for over 55 years
Church Musician since 1982
Ordained Minister since 1982
Master of Church Music (MCM) degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1982
My Story:
Piano lessons started for me in the summer after I completed the first grade. In addition to piano, I also play keyboards, organ, guitar, bass guitar, and a variety of percussion instruments.
After graduation from Georgia College (now Georgia College and State University) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a minor in English, I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas where I received the Master of Church Music degree with a Concentration in Piano.
Since graduation from seminary, I have served as a full-time associate pastor and music minister at four churches and on an interim or part-time basis.at two. I was ordained to the gospel ministry while serving my first full-time church.
In those churches, I have lead congregational singing, as well as directing adult, youth, and children's choirs. I have led worship in traditional, multi-generational, and contemporary services.
I desire that individuals come into a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. I want these individuals to worship God in spirit and in truth. It is my hope that we hold onto the best of our heritage of hymns and worship, while also enjoying the best of fresh creativity that is inspired God's Spirit.
